Who we are
Paisley Clearance is an independent clearance and removals service based in Glasgow, serving Paisley, Renfrewshire and the central belt. Our website is https://www.paisleyclearance.co.uk.
What personal data we collect and why
When you contact us via the website, by phone, by text, or by email, we may collect:
- Your name — so we know who we’re talking to.
- Your phone number and/or email address — so we can reply with a quote or arrange a job.
- Your job address and a description of the work — so we can quote accurately and turn up at the right place.
- Photos of the items / property if you choose to send them to us — used only to quote the job.
We do not collect bank or card details. Payment is taken on completion by cash, card reader, or bank transfer at the point of the job.
Why we collect this data — lawful basis
We process your data on the basis of legitimate interest in order to quote and complete the clearance or removal job you’ve asked us about. Where the data relates to fulfilling a contract you’ve agreed to (i.e. an actual booked job), we process it on the basis of performance of a contract.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data. We may share limited details with:
- A skip-hire or licensed-waste-carrier partner if your job requires a skip or licensed waste disposal that we can’t do ourselves — only first name, postcode, and job description are shared, never email or full address until the partner is on site.
- Our accountant for record-keeping purposes (invoice records, year-end accounts).
- Lawful authorities if we are legally required to (e.g. SEPA waste transfer record requests).
How long we keep your data
- Quote enquiries that don’t convert into a booked job: 6 months, then deleted.
- Completed-job records (name, address, job description, invoice): 6 years, as required for UK tax records.
- Photos sent for quote purposes: deleted within 30 days unless the job is booked, in which case they’re kept with the job record.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses:
- Essential session cookies so the website works (login, forms).
- Cookie consent banner (powered by CookieAdmin) which records your cookie choices.
- Google Analytics (when configured) to count anonymous visits. We never connect analytics data to your contact details.
You can decline non-essential cookies via the banner that appears on first visit. You can also clear cookies in your browser at any time.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask what data we hold on you — just email bigsmers@hotmail.com.
- Ask us to correct it if anything’s wrong.
- Ask us to delete it (subject to the 6-year tax-record retention noted above).
- Withdraw consent if you’d previously given it for marketing.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk if you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data.
